- The theory of triputi-samvit is advocated by Prabhakara

Jainism is a heterodox or astik school of Indian philosophy. They are called so because they do not accept the authority of the Vedas and the Vedic literature. Instead they accept the authority of their own founders of the faith or Tirthankaras. Jainism accepts 24 Tirthankaras or founders of the faith, of these Rshabhadeva was the first and Mahavira or Vardhamana was the last.
