- Originally this dynasty was founded by the grandfather of Bimbisara, but actually the real establisher of the dynasty was Bimbisara.
- The initial capital was Rajagriha, later it was shifted to Pataliputra.
- Magadha came into prominence under the leadership of Bimbisara.
