Introduction

• RNA editing is the process of altering the sequence of RNA following transcription, either by introducing new nucleotides, removing existing ones, or replacing existing ones.
• Some mRNAs have significant levels of editing, such as those found in the mitochondria of Leishmania as well as trypanosomes.
